HMRC and other government offices are increasing their focus on the tax gap and putting tax avoidance at the top of their agenda. We recently sought HMRC clearance for a client in relation to both the goodwill and share valuation of a private trading company.

The advantages of obtaining an approved valuation from HMRC, through a voluntary disclosure, allowed our client to structure and process their company sale and needless to say, avoid any potential tax investigation.
